Dennis Hopper lights up, Tom Robbins orders a triple and Woody forgets his shoes!
Never a dull moment at the Partouche Charity Poker fundraiser in Cannes on Saturday night.
Woody Harrelson and French actress Alice Taglioni tied in the spirited poker match and agreed to split the $1-million charity prize.
But Woody had less luck when he arrived in Cannes without his vegan shoes and belt. My source Dean Piper sez his aides tried to find him another pair in Cannes, but no luck. Woody just will not wear leather so he had his vegan accessories flown to Cannes ASAP on a plane.
Isn't that like a big carbon footprint for a pair of eco-conscious shoes and a belt?
Just saying.
Following Cannes jury prez Sean Penn's example, Dennis Hopper also lit up (euuuww! a cigar!) in public at the Partouche Poker party. But it was his birthday so who's gonna stop him?
He celebrated the big 7-2 Saturday night with a huge strawberry sponge cake (I would never have pegged him for a strawberry guy) that reportedly weighed 100 kgs, with his movies in gold stars on the sides and photos of him in "Easy Rider" on the top. Hopper cut the cake in front of the all the party guests, but only stayed a few minutes before returning to the restaurant next door to chill with the other gambler/actors.
Tim Robbins ordered "a triple vodka" when he returned from the poker game, saying, "I need it."
Ed Norton and Salma Hayek, who dated for a few years, sat at the poker table together.
But no bad blood, my source says. Although Salma did leave quietly at the end of the night without saying buh-bye to her ex-flame, who stayed with his date and ate pesto pasta at at 1 a.m.
Adrian Brody kept his shades during the poker game, as did Goldie Hawn, saying, "My eyes give me away."
One partygoer noted that Goldie looked decades younger than those dreadful photos that ran in the British tabloids this month.
Thank heavens.

Could it be that he had the shoes and belt sent on a plane that was already going there anyways?
It's a little odd that he couldn't find vegan shoes. They are very easy to find...
