Britney Spears is vacationing with Mel Gibson?

Sources say that the pop star is vacationing on Gibson's Costa Rican property on Playa Barrigona, close to Nicaragua.

Reports began coming in yesterday that Britney Spears, her father Jamie and some unidentified youngsters, arrived with Mel Gibson and his wife Robin yesterday afternoon in Costa Rica.   

OK, how do these two stars even know each other?

Is there a hush-hush "Pestered by the Paparazzi" celebrity club we don't know about?

Are they plotting to destroy TMZ.com?

Will the Britney and Mel work together to create a place where stars can escape and not be constantly photographed by telephoto lens, a Pap-Free Zone, if you will?

Last I checked, they are neighbors in Malibu, Calif. Their homes are very near each other. In my opinion, this is no big deal. Mel's wife is right there with them. I think he is just trying to help Spears get out of her death spiral.
