Will Cannes get a closing night shot of Hollywood star power?

"What Just Happened," starring Robert De Niro, Stanley Tucci and Catherine Keener, will be the closing night film at the 2008 Cannes International Film Festival.

The film, directed by Barry Levinson and based on a book ("What Just Happened? Bitter Hollywood Tales From the Front Line") by producer Art ("Into the Wild," "Heist," "Fight Club," "Pushing Tin") Linson, is the tale of two weeks in the life of Hollywood producer as he struggles to get his movie made and keep his marriage together. Hey, who at Cannes can't relate?

"What" also features cameos by Bruce Willis and the recently reunited Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn. And Sean just happens to be the head of the Cannes jury this year, so we know he'll be in town for the closing night screening. And I'm betting Robin will come too.

But will Brucie, who showed up for the film's Sundance premiere, also attend? And will he bring yet another gorgeous Victoria's Secret model, like the one he had draped on his arm at Sundance? Will Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher show up to support Big B's movie? How about daughter Rumer Willis?

And will Ashton shoot an episode of "Pop Fiction," his celebrity press/paparazzi pranks TV show, at Cannes?

Listen, at this point, the festival can use all the U.S. movie star power it can get.

So, to get you really excited about "What," which reportedly has eight minutes edited out of the Sundance version, here's a video of the Sundance red carpet, in which you get to see Bobby and Brucie doing their usual drive-bys on the press line.

The best thing about Cannes for stars like these? There are no annoying journalists allowed on the red carpet. It's all about the photographers!

Just smile and say, "fromage!"
