Want the skinny on Kate Moss? Anybody?
Kate Moss' latest unauthorized biography is out!
The book, imaginatively titled "Kate Moss," isn't out in the U.S. But the 300-page biography (with 14 pages of photos of Kate dating back to 1990) is now on French bookshelves and creating quite a buzz in Paris, the fashion capital of the world.
Designer Paul Smith, who also has an L.A. boutique on Melrose Avenue, recently hosted a cocktail party for the book at his Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore shop.
Needless to say, because the new bio is unauthorized and Moss flat-out refused to speak with the author, fashion journalist Françoise-Marie Santucci of the French daily Liberation, Kate didn't show up at the bash.
“Kate, despite her high profile, is really a very private person,” Smith told WWD. But this isn't the first bio of the bony babe. There are several, including "Kate Moss: Model of Imperfection." Kate even co-wrote (hah!) her own book (with the late Liz Tilberis) called "Kate: The Kate Moss Book."
Santucci's is, however, the newest peek into the model's life and presumably will address Kate's on-again, hopefully-off-again-forever relationship with musician Pete Doherty. Santucci based the book on archive material and anecdotes from "unnamed intimates" — which must be French for "sources close to the star."
Santucci has dubbed the elusive Moss "Snow White for the modern age." Oh, how right she is!
