Everybody knows Fred wore a wedding ring in “Double Indemnity,” when he was supposed to be single. Here he is in “Virginia” with Madeleine Carroll and neither of them are wearing wedding rings.]

[Update: French actor Fernand Gravet and Madeleine Carroll are pictured today aboard the liner France on arrival in New York from Europe. They are to appear in a new Broadway comedy. Miss Carroll has lived in Paris for three years, Aug. 6, 1964. The play was “Beekman Place,” which closed after 29 performances, without Carroll in the cast.]

Persian lamb always creeped me out, it looks like brains. My mother had a Persian lamb jacket with black mink trim that scared the heck out of me when I was little.
