Peter Bogdanovich and What's up Doc? And Ryan O'Neal and Barbra Streisand must be on the floor.

What's Up Doc (or, maybe, Thief Who Came to Dinner)
Posted by: Dewey Webb | February 11, 2011 at 08:12 AM
Well, that's Peter Bogdonovich...

A few unhelpful (to me) observations: The camera is a Panavision wide gage one, meaning that it is for a big picture. A real location has been transformed for the sequence. Several AlanLadds are piled up for the camera operator (or director) to peer through the viewfinder. And the talent laying on his backside on a cushion is wearing tuxedo pants. The era seems to be the seventies to eighties.
I would have guessed some James Bond film, but none are shot in the City of Angels.
That's all folks.

"The Fugitive" (1993), with Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones and that ageless Super-Fox, Julianne Moore?

That is Peter Bogdanovich behind the camera filming Ryan O'Neal on the set of WHAT'S UP DOC.

Polly Platt & Peter Bogdanovich - on the set of "What's Up, Doc?"? If so, that's probably Ryan O'Neal's tuxedo'd leg.

The blonde has a Julie Christie nose. Is that Warren Beatty on his back, and is this Shampoo?

The guy looking throw the lens looks too uncomfortable to be the DP or Operator. Probably the director. William Friedkin?

that should be "through". (I hate when that happens)

Could the director be a young Peter Bogdanovich? If so, the production might be the slapstick farce "What's Up, Doc?" (1972) with Barbara Streisand and Ryan O'Neal, whose tuxedo jacket she ripped and had to mend.

Is the movie "What's Up Doc?"
Posted by: zabadu | February 11, 2011 at 11:38 AM
Peter Bogdanovich directing "Targets"?

William Friedkin directing "Boys in the Band" in 1970.

Taking a stab, 'To Live & Die in L.A.". Okay, now I'll cut it out.
