Feb. 6, 1961: Matt Weinstock has a follow-up on the demise of the Pioneer Dairy Lunch, a haven for the homeless in downtown Los Angeles. One homeless man writes: I just now sold a pint of blood. There isn't much percentage in selling blood. It just puts off hunger a little while. Here's a curiosity -- nearly everything has more than doubled in price, but not blood.
