[Update: As many people realized, this is from “There’s That Woman Again.” I expected most people to recognize Melvyn Douglas, but some of the responses were quite detailed. Please congratulate Mary Mallory, Dewey Webb, Eve Golden, Herb Nichols, Zabadu, Rick, Mark Heimback-Nielsen, Benito, Periwinkle, Lee and Arye Michael Bender. And Mike Hawks' post was most impressive:  THERE'S THAT WOMAN AGAIN 1939, Columbia Pictures. shown left to right are cameraman Joseph Walker, Pierre Watkin, director Alexander Hall, Margaret Lindsay, Melvyn Douglas and Virginia Bruce.

This was another fun discovery…. Unfortunately, the print was so large that I had to scan it in two pieces and paste them together. The crease in the center of the photo is where it was folded in half to be put in the folder, which is typical of the oversized prints.

It's Virginia Bruce and Melvyn Douglas. Will do investigating as to which film it is.

Someone shoulda fit that lady with a [better?] bra. This must be from the wonderful '30s, when onscreen, at least, liberated women went braless. Mary?

George Gershwin is not evident.

Melvyn Douglas & Virginia Bruce in Arsene Lupin Returns?

Not in this one, but he was about 3 days ago, with Ginger Rogers.

No, i desired info about the talent's seeming bralessness. Everything else in the photo tells me the shot is from the early '40s, but you're the authority. So, take two--Mary?

THERE'S THAT WOMAN AGAIN 1939, Columbia Pictures. shown left to right are cameraman Joseph Walker, Pierre Watkin, director Alexander Hall, Margaret Lindsay, Melvyn Douglas and Virginia Bruce.

The film is THERE'S THAT WOMAN AGAIN. Director Alexander Hall is looking intense. that's Stanley Ridges on the left and Margaret Lindsay next to Douglas.

Is it THERE'S THAT WOMAN AGAIN? Seems to be Jonathan Hale, Melvyn Douglas and Virginia Bruce at the table, though Boobsie McBraless doesn't look much like Margaret Lindsay. That IS director Alexander Hall.

Is that Joseph Walker behind the camera?

Then, as now, many evening dresses were form fitting, so women often went braless. Some had to, because the dresses were backless, or cut very high on the side.

melvyn douglas, virginia bruce, margaret lindsay, and pierre watkin in theres that woman again

The man is Melvyn Douglas...that much I know!

Margaret Lindsay, Melvyn Douglas, Virginia Bruce, There's That Woman Again

From "There's That Woman Again" (Columbia-1939) - at the table are Pierre Watkin , director Alexander Hall, Margaret Lindsay, Melvin Douglas and Virginia Bruce.

Melvyn Douglas center and Virginia Bruce to the left, so I think it's Arsene Lupin Returns [1938]. Whoever that brunette is, I wouldn't change a thing.

The movie is "There's That Woman Again." The actors are Pierre Watkin, Margaret Lindsay, Melvyn Doulgals and Virginia Bruce. I'll guess two of the more prominent behind the camera faces are Producer B.B. Kahane and Director Alexander Hall.

I've been away with a sick grandchild for several weeks, so I'm not sure what the new mystery game is--are we supposed to guess the stars or the movie? Anyway, here's my guess--There's that Woman Again, 1939, with (l-r)Pierre Watkin, director Alexander Hall (?), Margaret Lindsay, Melvin Douglas, and Virginia Bruce. The gowns (as they always bill them) were by Kalloch.

As evidenced above, Melvyn Douglas came off as a real guy. Even in the highly stylized thirties. It was a rare quality. Perhaps the only other star of the era who always seemed natural was Spencer Tracy.

Assuming the brunette is Margaret Lindsay, here is a bio: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0512267/bio Wow, she even dated Liberace!
