Another Good Story Ruined – The Black Dahlia
|
|
| Here’s the Night Final (10 star) edition of the Daily News … except the real Night Final looks like this: OK, this the same. What’s different? There’s no arrow! Although the caption mentions an arrow, there’s none on the fake front page. What happened? Someone re-cropped and superimposed the original photo on a partial image of the page. And, of course, now’s all over the Internet. Proving once again that one reason the Black Dahlia case is so difficult to tell accurately is that there’s an inordinate amount of misinformation easily accessible on the Internet. The pick and shovel work of actual research takes more time and patience than most people are willing to devote to the killing. |

Why did they do that? I can't think of any reason someone would take the same photo and superimpose it on the newspaper.

(Er, not saying I don't believe you; I found this in a Google search so I know where it's been appearing online. I'm just shocked at anyone doing this because it seems so pointless.)

Why would some people do things that are stoopid, immature, fraudulent and/or mean-spirited? Becasue they can. Why do some people "key" strangers' cars, vandalize walls with graffiti, shoot at road signs and "target" people with rifle scope cross-hairs? Same answer.
