Cannot imagine Ernest Hemingway sitting through: "Week after week you're gonna be showed another human episode of Grandpappy Amos and the girls and the boys of the family known as 'The Real McCoys'." (Opening theme words have been in my head since '58, waiting for this very moment)
The show starred a toothless Walter Brennan as Grandpappy Amos McCoy. Very cornpone.
Now watching the wickedly funny Alan Mowbray as Col. Humphrey J. Flack, would have held some guilty pleasure.
