Not completely true, alas.

Alexander & Oviatt was incorporated on June 1, 1912: its founding partners were Frank Baird Alexander, James Zera Oviatt, and Frank Shaver Allen. The capital stock was $10,000, almost all of which was provided by Allen. The store itself opened for business in September, 1912.
In short, Alexander & Oviatt began its life 97 years ago.
The advertisement is promoting Alexander & Oviatt's expansion of its second location on the corner of 6th and Hill. (They'd moved out of the first location in 1915.)
