Jack Mulhall, Dec. 5, 1925

June 6, 1979, Jack Mulhall Update: As many people guessed, this is Jack Mulhall, a prolific actor who died at the age of 91. I had a difficult time choosing which pictures to post because there are so many good ones.

At right, Mulhall's obituary by Dorothy Townsend, June 6, 1979.

Just a reminder on how this works: I post the mystery photo on Monday and reveal the answer on Friday. To keep the mystery photo from getting lost in the other entries, I move it from Monday to Tuesday to Wednesday, etc., adding a photo every day.

I have to approve all comments, so if your guess is posted immediately, that means you're wrong. (And if a wrong guess has already been submitted by someone else, there's no point in submitting it again.) If you're right, you will have to wait until Friday. There's no need to submit your guess five times. Once is enough. The only prize is bragging rights.

The answer to last week's photo: George Dolenz.

Here's another picture of our mystery fellow with a mystery companion. Please congratulate Mary Mallory, Alekszandr, Juile, Steven Bibb, John Hall (I'm not sure if this is former Mirror/Times/Register columnist John Hall),  Randy Skretvedt, Cinnamon Carter and Ed for correctly identifying him.

Here's our mystery fellow with some mystery companions. Please congratulate Dewey Webb and "Laura" fan Waldo Lydecker for correctly identifying him (and to Mary Mallory for identifying the movie in the previous photo), What are these fellows doing with their hats?

May 9, 1959: Made Kennedy and Mulhall in "I Remember Caviar," an episode of Screen Gems' "Goodyear Theater."

I know I said I'd identify our mystery guest today -- but I'm having so much fun with these old pictures I decided to hold off until tomorrow. The man had an incredibly long career. Here he is with another mystery companion.

June 18, 1944. Mulhall and Gloria Gilbert in Ken Murray's "Blackouts of 1944." Isn't this a great picture?

It's the very prolific Jack Mulhall who had among his extensive film resume my favorite sound serial, ' Burn 'Em Up Barnes'.

Matt Moore? Tom Moore? Mary Tyler Moore?

Could it possibly be Clifton Webb?

Harry Langdon

Lloyd Hughes

Today's photo is from THE OLD FASHIONED WAY starring W. C. Fields. Director William Beaudine is the tall man with mustache standing at left, and Dell Henderson is the man seated.

Jack Mulhall. And one of the fellows in the last photo is the wonderful Del Henderson.

Is it Raymond Griffith?

Jack Mulhall.

Well, that's him with Harold Lloyd in this new photo. I am still stumped.

Garry Moore? Clayton Moore? Dudley Moore? Dickie Moore? Demi Moore? Grace Moore? Colleen Moore?

Is that Jack with Harold Lloyd?

Charley Chase?

Is it Sam Taylor. While I have no idea what he looks like, Harold Lloyd did consider him his most important director, and I believe it is Lloyd in the latest picture.

Wild guesses all.

Harold Lloyd's twin brother?

..I was wrong on John Payne-- :(

Pretty sure the guy on the right is Harold Lloyd, but still don't know our mystery man...

Is this still from the "77 Sunset Strip" episode called "Strange Girl in Town?"

This is definitely JACK MULHALL, the actor who began his career in the Silent Era and appeared in over 430 films.

Cecil Kellaway

Looks almost like a very young Bing Crosby.

Hello: I think the lady is Madge Kennedy. Either way if there is identifying information on the reverse of this photo as to the name of the tv program I would appreciate this. I am trying to compile a list of Mulhall's credits and I am sure this is a tv photo from the late 1950's. The S.G. at bottom right should stand for Screen Gems. I had met him a number of times in the mid 1970's and have since he passed away been slowly but surely attempting the impossible and that is to document his full credits for tv and film. Thanks in advance if you can help out Mike Hawks of Larry Edmunds Bookshop

Although I failed to recognize Jack Mulhall, one thing is evident. He seems to be having the time of his life at every stage in the series of pictures presented.

He beams with the joy of a life well lived.

Great pics - what a fantastic find! Thanks, from a cool but gorgeous Dublin, Ireland,
Gloria
