Quaker Oats’ entry wins the Grand Prize with a float showing Sinbad the Sailor. Chevrolet makes its debut in the parade and wins the President’s Trophy with a float depicting a soapbox derby.   “The city of Los Angeles depicts its future growth as a city of skyscrapers with this float, which was awarded the Queen's Trophy.”
