Ricardo Montalban, 1920 - 2009

I am very saddened to hear of the news of Ricardo Monalban's death. I will never forget him. He was a terrific actor and I know that God will take good care of him in heaven. On a personal level,in 1987, my husband and I stayed at The Beverly Hilton in LosAngeles. There was a party going on and we met several celebrities like Johnny Carson,Ed MacMahon,Don Rickles,Milton Berle,Ricardo. We wanted their autographs and pictures. We asked politely and most all of them said no even if we were on our honeymoon. Everyone except Ricardo Montalban. He not only gave us a picture with us and his autograph, but showed us around the hotel. For as long as live I will never forget him and how kind he was to us. Remember he didn't have to be, but that is just the kind of person he was! Ricardo, we will miss you so much. May you rest forever in peace. God bless you always!

I will never forget Ricardo Montalban as Khan in the second Star Trek Movie "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan." His portrayal of Khan in that movie saved the Star Trek Franchise after the disastrous first Star Trek Movie in 1979.

He was the handsomest man I ever laid eyes on--the way he looked in the original Star Trek episode. He also had a reputation as a consummate gentleman, a rarity for Hollywood. A fine actor and an admirable character, I was influenced many years ago by some things he said about his Catholic faith that I never forgot. I later (much later) converted to Catholicism myself. He played a part in that, for which I am most grateful. He will be missed. May he rejoice in heaven in the company of Our Lady, and bask in the radiance of Our Lord. God bless you, Sr. Montalban.

What an inspirational life.

Mr. Montalban faced great discrimination as a Traditional Roman Catholic, but he never swayed from it and even made a a film about it that's worth seeking out.

In a place like Hollywood where the Traditional Catholic Faith is unpopular and constantly mocked like nothing else, he kept his dignity and led a moral life with the rarest thing in Hollywood, a good and lasting marriage!

He really had class and as so many anecdotes show, he was a good man to the core. In the end, that's about the best thing anyone can ever say about anyone. I miss him so much already and will pray for the happy repose of his soul.
