Hollywood's leading preservation group has been ordered out of the community's most prominent historic estate for allegedly ignoring city rules and renting out the mansion for disruptive parties.

Hollywood Heritage has supervised the famed Wattles Mansion for 25 years under an exclusive agreement with the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. The city purchased the mansion for about $2 million in 1968.

We are some of the neighbors that live close to the Wattles Mansion and have had to deal with all the late night parties, loud amplified music, cars blocking our streets, etc,. So many neighbors have complained to Hollywood Heritage in the past and for them to deny this is just amazing to us. Fran Offenhauser of Hollywood Heritage does live on the street and does don't attend every event... so how can she be so sure? We have not seem any improvements made to the Wattles Mansion so where is all the money going? They are running large amounts of commercial events on our residential street. Our quality of life has suffered and Hollywood Heritage does not care.

We are so delighted that they have been ordered to leave due to their audit and not following to the lease terms of their agreement. We hope the city does not let them stay!
