The house formerly belonged to director Raoul Walsh. I believe it was also used for exteriors in the 1938 Lucille Ball RKO films "The Affairs Of Annabel" and "Annabel Takes A Tour," both made before Clark and Carole married and moved in.

Note the custom, widespread at the time, of placing cigarettes in dinner plates. Some how one doesn't think of Gable as a cat man.
