Raymond bombing

Today is the 70th anniversary of one of the more notorious events in Los Angeles history, which occurred at 955 Orme St. Perhaps you've heard of it. If not, read about it here. It's called the Harry Raymond bombing.

"Hollenbeck Heights"?

Today that would be in Boyle Heights. Harry Raymond's house is still very much standing although I doubt the garage is. What is there now has to be a replacement.

The Frank Shaw "reform" government must have been something. Not to mention the LAPD of the 1930's.

--Shaw was recalled later that year, losing to Judge Fletcher Bowron on Sept. 16, 1938. It was the beginning of a new era in Los Angeles.
