You can see the sign for the Westlake Theater in the background. It's now a swap meet on Alvarado Blvd. This was a swanky neighborhood in the teens and twenties, just around the corner from the bungalow where film director William Desmond Taylor was murdered. Another unsolved L.A. mystery.
