I know I should cut Denise Richards some slack, since she took time out from her busy schedule -- battling ex-hubbie Charlie Sheen in court and dreaming up great, new dramatic moments for her ‘Denise Richards: It’s Complicated’ reality show -- to show up at Wrigley Field to sing ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’ the other day for my beloved Chicago Cubs.

After all, she’s a local gal, from Downer’s Grove, Ill. But as you can tell from the video below, when it comes to singing, she makes Roseanne Barr sound like Beyonce.

In fact, it’s hard to imagine a worse rendition of ‘Take Me Out’ at Wrigley, at least since Ozzy Osbourne took a crack at it a couple of years ago. But that’s not what is really embarrassing. If you watch closely, it’s pretty obvious that Richards is looking down at a cheat sheet that not only appears to contain the song’s lyrics, but a suggested introduction to the song. (At Wrigley, tradition holds that guest singers introduce the song by saying, ‘All right, let me hear you -- a 1 ... a 2 ... a 3...’)

Forget about singing in key. Don’t you think Denise could’ve memorized ‘Let me hear you?’

How bad is she? You decide:
