People in Hollywood are totally blase about seeing a movie star at the next table, but at breakfast this morning at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel’s Boulevard restaurant, all necks were craning in the same direction, discreetly checking out former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who was having breakfast with William Morris chief Jim Wiatt.

Outfitted in a gray pin-striped suit and accompanied by a pair of bulky Secret Service-type bodyguards, Rice still looked like she could take out a nasty terrorist cell with a snap of her fingers.

So what could Rice possibly be doing, meeting with Wiatt? My guess: After spending years patiently negotiating with egomaniacal dictators and trying to bring together the warring parties in the quarrelsome Middle East, she’d be a natural to broker the much-talked about merger between Endeavor and WMA. After dealing with Hamas and Israel, getting Ari Emanuel and Wiatt to settle their differences should be a breeze.
