Alleged Anonymous members arrested in Turkey

After arresting 32 people who’re believed to be members of the Internet ‘hacktivist’ group Anonymous, the Turkish government released nine of the alleged hackers who were minors, the state news agency reported Tuesday.
The mass arrests occured on Sunday, after Anonymous successfully took down several Turkish government websites.
The group went after the websites Thursday in protest of a new system that it claims will censor the Internet in the country beginning in August, the group said in a blog post Friday.
‘The internet is a platform for freedom, a place where anyone and everyone can come together, discuss topics, and share information, without the fear of government interference,’ Anonymous said in its post. ‘We, Anonymous, will not stand by and let this go unnoticed. We will fight with the Turkish people against their government’s rain of censorship.’
The arrests came after three other members of Anonymous were arrested in Spain on Friday.
