Twitter turns 5, celebrates with celebrities in YouTube video
Five years ago Jack Dorsey sent the first tweet.
Now Twitter, which is reportedly worth billions of dollars and owes its considerable mainstream appeal to the celebrities who champion the service, has released a promotional video to celebrate its anniversary (complete with sentimental background music).
The star-studded clip on YouTube features entrepreneur Richard Branson, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, decorating maven Martha Stewart, U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner, Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli and entertainer Snoop Dogg, who all explain how they use Twitter.
One of the best moments: Snoop Dogg follows Stewart because "she loves to wake and bake with the big Snoop Dogg." And Nespoli offers a breathtaking view of Earth from the International Space Station.
Twitter co-founder Biz Stone wished his 400-person company happy birthday here.
