AT&T said Friday that it has lifted the normal monthly subscription fee for the TV Japan channel its U-verse TV customers would otherwise pay for the next week, ‘so they can keep up with the latest news and recovery efforts,’ said Karla Enriquez, an AT&T spokeswoman.

The wireless carrier is also removing any text-message fees for AT&T cellphone users who text dontations to the Red Cross efforts in Japan, Enriquez said.
