Google CEO Eric Schmidt talking to CNN producer about TV show, report says

Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt might batting around the idea of hosting his own TV show, according to a report.

Schmidt, who is set to step down as chief executive at the Web search giant on April 4, has spoken with Liza McGuirk, the executive producer of CNN's "Parker Spitzer" show, according to the New York Post.

The newspaper quotes an anonymous source for the report, who said, "Eric wants to be a talk-show host. He's been working with Liza to develop a show, but he has not yet been picked up by any network."

The Post also said in its report that Schmidt filmed a pilot for CNN in August, but it was a "complete disaster."

One thing is for sure as of now: the 55-year-old isn't leaving Google altogether. While Schmidt is making way for company co-founder Larry Page to take over as CEO, Google has said Schmidt will be staying on as the chairman of the board of directors.

Google officials weren't available to comment on the report on Monday.
