CES: Rod-like device uses motion to recharge gadgets

It’s not always the big-ticket items that are the most interesting at CES; here’s something little that caught our eye. The nPower Peg generates electricity as you walk and move around.

The idea is that we use a lot of energy to get around, and much of that energy is wasted. So just put the nPower Peg into your pocket, backpack or purse and it converts the mechanical force of your motion into electrical energy that you can use to charge your mobile devices. It works just like a regular USB charger, and several adapters are available for a variety of devices.
