Consumer Electronics Show: Capture video with Looxcie, then show it off

When you first see the Looxcie at the Consumer Electronics Show, you might assume that it's a big Bluetooth headset for a mobile phone, and you wouldn't be wrong. But it's also a personal video recorder that works with your smartphone to let you record the world around you and instantly upload it.

Just adjust the Looxcie to your ear -- three different earbuds come with the device -- press a button and start recording. When you're done you can send it as an e-mail or to Facebook, YouTube or Twitter with just a couple of taps on your smartphone.

You can also use your smartphone as a viewfinder with the LooxcieCam app. The LooxcieMoments app lets you record 30 seconds of video that happened before you pushed the button. So no more missing great moments.

The apps are free but the camera will run you about $200 at Amazon.com, Bestbuy.com and NeimanMarcus.com.
