Google Docs editing coming soon to iPhone, iPad and Android devices
The Google Docs update will be available for devices running the tech giant's Android operating system version 2.2 -- also known as Froyo -- or any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running iOS 3.0 or newer.
Android users will get one slick feature not available to Apple owners: the ability to edit text in a Google Doc using voice recognition.
No matter the device, Google Docs editing won't be done in an app.
Instead, users simply have to visit www.docs.google.com in their phone or tablet's Web browser to get started editing existing files or create new document,s all while "your friends can jealously follow in real time at home," Google said.
For now, only English-language documents can be edited by way of a mobile device, but Google said it plans to add editing for other languages at a later date.
