Apple’s iTunes Connect service will be briefly closed from Dec. 23 to Dec. 28.

In a short note on the iOS developer center, Apple said that Connect, which is the system developers use to submit and manage applications, or ‘apps,’ available through Apple’s App store, will be closed temporarily ‘for the winter holidays.’

Apple typically shuts down some of its services at the end of the year for a brief holiday break, then resumes operations just before the new year. Any apps scheduled to go live during the scheduled holiday shutdown won’t appear in the App Store until ‘Connect resumes for business on December 29.’

Customers, however, will still be able to purchase apps for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch during the shutdown. Holiday gift shopping, anyone?
