[VIDEO] WolframAlpha to go ahead with soft launch, despite earlier snag

WolframAlpha says it is "counting down" and will proceed with a partial launch tonight despite earlier problems with a traffic stress test.  The project expects to be at full capacity by Monday.

A live video feed will begin at 5 p.m. Pacific time (7 p.m. Central), with the actual launch expected to happen sometime in a three hour window thereafter.

"Our teams are full-court-press resolving network, infrastructure, database, and all sorts of other challenges," they wrote in a blog post late Friday.

"One of the biggest challenges we’re navigating today is effectively linking our supercomputers together. We’ve been switching on more and more compute capacity."

Users can watch the switch get thrown in the video below or at justin.tv.
