The wireless industry celebrates its 25th birthday

It may be hard to believe, but the first commercial cellphone call in the United States was made 25 years ago today. Back then, cellphones were clunky, expensive and dropped a lot of calls. Today, they're lightweight, kinda expensive and still drop a lot of calls -- but hey, some things never change.

The wireless industry has made some pretty impressive progress from the early days, when few people (including those young 'uns who always seem to be so up on technology) had even heard of the word "cellular."
