USC football: Trojans’ 2012 schedule released

USC, which will be bowl eligible for the first time in three years, will play four if its first six games on the road this season, including a Thursday night game at Utah.

The Pac-12 Conference released its schedule Wednesday.

Coach Lane Kiffin’s team opens against Hawaii on Sept. 1 at the Coliseum and then travels the next week to play Syracuse in MetLife Stadium at East Rutherford, N.J.

The Trojans open Pac-12 play Sept. 15 at Stanford, host Cal on Sept. 22 and then play at Utah on Oct. 4.

USC, led by senior quarterback Matt Barkley, is the favorite in the South Division; defending Pac-12 champion Oregon is the favorite in the North.

The Trojans play the Ducks on Nov. 3 at the Coliseum. They could play again in the Pac-12 title game on Friday, Nov. 30, at the stadium of the team with the best overall conference record.
