Colby Cyburt, a tackle from Mission Viejo High School, said he will play football at UCLA.

Cyburt, who is 6 feet 5, 270 pounds, is ranked 49th nationally at his position by Scout.com and 50th by Rivals.com. He also visited Stanford, Colorado and San Diego State.

“Just going up there last weekend, meeting the coaches and getting to know them, it confirmed that I wanted to play for them,” Cyburt said. “I want to be on the ground level of a new program. I think UCLA is going to rise under the new staff and I couldn’t pass that up.”

UCLA continues to collect offensive linemen. Cyburt is the seventh offensive lineman -- six freshmen, one community college transfer -- among the 2012 recruiting class.

“The more the merrier,” Cyburt said. “Having a good recruiting class shows we’re headed in the right direction.”
