UCLA offensive guard Albert Cid, linebacker Isaiah Bowens and safety Tony Dye are academically ineligible to play against Illinois in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl on Dec. 31.

Backup quarterback Richard Brehaut has been suspended for the game for violating team rules.

Cid’s loss will have the greatest impact on the Bruins. He was a starter at guard. Tackle Jeff Baca was moved to guard during practice Wednesday with Brett Downey playing Baca’s tackle spot.

The Bruins are thin on the line, having lost guard Chris Ward to a knee injury earlier this season.

Dye, the starter when the season began, was already out with a sprained ankle. He also missed eight games with a neck injury.

Bowens is a reserve linebacker who plays on special teams.

Brehaut started four games this season but has been out since breaking his leg against Washington State on Oct. 8.
