Clippers: With Chris Paul, what will be Chauncey Billups' role?

Chauncey
Chauncey Billups, whom the Clippers acquired from the New York Knicks on Monday, expected to be the team's starting point guard this season, the veteran in charge of a young squad.

That was before the Clippers acquired four-time all-star point guard Chris Paul in a blockbuster trade Wednesday evening.

Billups may have to adjust to an entirely new role now. He will likely be a shooting guard, the same position he played during the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Turkey, when Derrick Rose ran the point.

When New York waived Billups under the NBA's one-time amnesty provision, Billups threatened to retire if a team that he did not want to play for claimed him.

Billups worked out at the Clippers training facility Wednesday evening, but it remains to be seen how he will respond to the Clippers' most recent roster changes.

Billups averaged 17.5 points and 5.5 assists last season with the Knicks.
