New England Patriots' Julian Edelman arrested

The New England Patriots' Julian Edelman was arrested
After his arrest early this morning, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been charged with indecent assault and battery and is due in Boston Municipal Court later in the day, officials said.

Edelman was arrested around 1:30 a.m. for allegedly groping a woman inside a Boston nightclub, according to the office of Suffolk County Dist. Atty. Daniel F. Conley.

Edelman, 25, is in his third season with the Patriots. He has three catches this season but has not played since Oct. 2 because of an ankle injury.

Edelman has 47 career receptions for 470 yards and one touchdown. He also scored a touchdown on a 94-yard punt return in the 2010 season.

The Patriots have not made any statements regarding Edelman.
