Former Angels pitcher Mickey Scott dies

Mickey Scott, a left-hander who pitched for the Angels from 1975 to 1977 and went on to work for the New York Yankees after his playing career, died Wednesday of an apparent heart attack in Binghamton, N.Y. He was 64.

A native of Weimar, Germany, Scott was a 17th-round pick of the Yankees in 1965, and he played for six organizations. In 95 games with the Angels, Scott went 7-4 with four saves and a 3.58 earned run average, giving up 49 earned runs in 123 1/3 innings.
