Rex Peters, baseball coach at UC Davis for the last nine seasons, will be hired as assistant coach at UCLA, confirmed a person with knowledge of the situation. The person requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly about pending personnel moves.

Baseball America reported the move Wednesday night. The report said an official announcement about Peters’ hiring is not expected until mid-August.
