Santa Ana Mater Dei star and former USC verbal commitment Katin Reinhardt has verbally committed to the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Reinhardt’s father, Ernie, confirmed in a text message Thursday morning.

Reinhardt, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound combo guard considered one of the top prospects on the West Coast for the class of 2012, had verbally committed to USC on New Years Eve, but when he decided to reopen his commitment in May, USC coaches informed him that they were no longer interested in him.

Reinhardt followed in a line of Mater Dei players who have changed their mind when it comes to a college. At UNLV, Reinhardt will be joined by former USC player Bryce Jones, who announced in May that he would play there.
