UCLA’s Daniel Kosakowski qualified for his first ATP main draw with a 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory over Denis Kudla at the Farmers Classic on Monday afternoon.

In front of a large contingent of friends and family, Kosakowski used a sort of home-court advantage to get him through a tight final set that included a controversial correction from the chair umpire in the tiebreaker.

The college kid conceded that he woke up Monday morning at his home in Downey and simply drove to UCLA as usual.

‘I’ve grown up watching this tournament,’ Kosakowski said. ‘It feels amazing.’

Kosakowski is the only remaining Bruin in the draw.

USC’s Steve Johnson is scheduled to take the court Tuesday against Gilles Muller of Luxembourg.
