Manchester City announces roster for U.S. tour
Manchester City Coach Roberto Mancini announced his roster for the Herbalife World Football Challenge on Thursday. Mancini's team will meet the Galaxy at the Home Depot Center on July 24.
Midfielder David Silva, a member of the 2010 World Cup-winning Spanish team, leads Manchester City into its two games west of the Atlantic Ocean. Silva played in every Manchester City game last season, scoring six goals.
World Cup veterans Nigel De Jong and Yaya Toure, from the Netherlands and the Ivory Coast, respectively, join Silva. Midfielder Gareth Barry also made the roster. Barry played with the Galaxy’s Juan Pablo Angel at Aston Villa before Angel joined Major League Soccer.
The complete Manchester City roster for its match against the Galaxy next weekend and its match against Club America of Mexico in San Francisco on Saturday:
