Galaxy midfielder Juninho’s peers named the Brazilian an MLS All-Star on Monday, though he will not appear in the All-Star game Wednesday.

Juninho’s inclusion brings the Galaxy’s total to five All-Stars. Forward Landon Donovan and defender Omar Gonzalez will miss the game because of injuries, a strained right calf and a fractured nose, respectively. Juninho will join the two on the inactive roster, as 32 players are annually named to the MLS All-Star team, but only 22 are allowed to dress for the game.

Galaxy midfielder David Beckham and defender Sean Franklin will take the pitch against Premier League champion Manchester United.

Juninho has tallied three goals and two assists this season while anchoring the Galaxy’s midfield.
