Of the five goals scored between the Galaxy and Real Madrid in an international exhibition game on Saturday, it was not Cristiano Ronaldo’s beauty that sparked a worldwide Twitter frenzy. It was Adam Cristman’s goal.

The Galaxy forward headed in a deflection in the 67th minute of the 4-1 exhibition loss. By the time the match ended “Cristman” was trending across the Twitter-verse.

“I just got a couple texts about it,” Cristman said. “That’s something that’s pretty cool. … Just the nature of it I guess.”

Galaxy midfielder Jovan Kirovski sent a shot on goal to set up Cristman’s tally.

“I’m doing my job as forward just to be in the box and be in dangerous spots,” Cristman said. “In a friendly match and a top team like that, it’s in a different category but it’s definitely one of my top goals. That’s for sure.”

In the closing minutes, Ronaldo and teammate Kaká were both trending across the United States, but such experiences come to the former FIFA world players of the Year. Cristman, however, is left to wonder a key question of his newfound fame.

“So what am I supposed to tweet to that?”
