Jered Weaver, Howie Kendrick and Jordan Walden weren’t the only members of the Angels family in the American League clubhouse for Tuesday’s All-Star Game.

Brian “Bubba’ Harkins, who tends to the visiting locker room at Angel Stadium, was asked to come help out at Chase Field. Harkins was one of the lead clubhouse managers for last July’s game in Anaheim so the Diamondbacks staff spent most of the spring seeking his advice.

“Finally they just said, ‘Why don’t you come? You’ve been there and done that,’ ” said Harkins, who also worked the 1989 game in Anaheim, making him a three-time All-Star.

And speaking of preparation, a large delegation from Kansas City was on hand in Phoenix this week studying some of the things the Diamondbacks were doing. The Royals will host next year’s All-Star Game.
