The Angels have won nine of their last 10 series and can add to that mark Sunday with a win over the Baltimore Orioles in the rubber game of their three-game set at Oriole Park at Camden Yard.

And the Angels need a win to keep pace with the red-hot Texas Rangers, who scored twice in their final at-bat Saturday to beat the Toronto Blue Jays and push their advantage in the American League West to four games.

Manager Mike Scioscia gave a couple of players a rest day Sunday, benching shortstop Erick Aybar in favor of the struggling Maicer Izturis and giving catcher Jeff Mathis the day off in favor of Bobby Wilson. In addition, Peter Bourjos, who returned from the disabled list with a spectacular defensive game Saturday, rested his tight hamstring Sunday with rookie Mike Trout starting in center.

After Sunday afternoon’s game, the Angels fly to Cleveland where they’ll send Dan Haren and Jered Weaver to the mound in the first two of a three-game series beginning Monday.
