Kraft Nabisco Championships: Lewis leads
Stacy Lewis spent last week working with her coach to, she said, get ready for this week at the Kraft Nabisco Championship at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
"He saw little things, trying to hit the ball flight a little bit higher because we knew the greens were going to be firm and just do little things to get ready for the long rough, things like that," Lewis said. "I've been kind of expecting a good round for a couple of weeks and I'm glad it came [Thursday]."
Lewis' round Thursday was 66 and it tied her for the first-round lead with 2009 winner Brittany Lincicome.
And Lewis has started out her second round with two birdies on the par-five second and par-four third to put her at eight under for the tournament and give her a quick two-shot lead over Lincicome who parred her first hole.
