Kings sign Tyler Toffoli and Jordan Weal to entry-level contracts

The Kings signed centers Tyler Toffoli and Jordan Weal to three-year entry-level contracts.

Toffoli, who will turn 19 on Sunday, was selected by the Kings in the second round (47th overall) of last year’s NHL draft. He has played three seasons with the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League, and this past season recorded 108 points, including a league-leading 57 goals and a plus-44 rating in 68 regular-season games.

In four playoff games this season with the 67’s, the 6-foot-1 center collected three goals and five assists. He also appeared in three playoff games for the Manchester Monarchs, the Kings’ primary American Hockey League affiliate, and has one goal so far.

Weal, who turned 19 on Friday, was selected in the third round (70th overall). The 5-foot-10 center has played four seasons with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League, and this past season had 96 points, including 43 goals, in 72 regular-season games.
