Zdeno Chara unleashes devastating hit on Max Pacioretty

Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty was taken off the ice on a stretcher and sent to the hospital after suffering a devastating hit by Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara during Tuesday's game.

Pacioretty made contact with the corner of glass that separates the teams benches while being hit by the 6-foot-9 defenseman. Pacioretty lay motionless on the ice for several minutes before being taken away.

The Canadiens announced later that Pacioretty could move his arms and legs and could speak but would be taken to the hospital for more tests.

Chara was assessed a five-minute major for interference because the hit came after Pacioretty got rid of the puck.
