USC defensive lineman Armond Armstead was admitted to the hospital and is undergoing tests for an unspecified medical condition, the school announced Friday.

Armstead was hospitalized Thursday.

"His situation is being evaluated and tests are continuing," Coach Lane Kiffin said in a statement. "USC's outstanding team of doctors is providing him with excellent medical care.

"He and his family asked that no further information be released at this point."
