The Finals featured a Lakers-Boston matchup for the second season in a row. The Lakers were humiliated in the first game, 148-114, a contest remembered as the Memorial Day Massacre. But the Lakers won four of the next five games as they finally defeated Boston in the Finals for the first time in nine attempts.
