The second round of the Kia Classic golf tournament at Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms won’t start until 10:45 a.m. Friday because of hard rain overnight and into the early morning.

Amanda Blumenherst, the leader after the first round, won’t tee off until 3:50 p.m. Blumenherst shot an opening round 66 that was seven-under par, giving her a one-shot lead over Germany’s Sandra Gal. Gal won’t get on the course until 4:10 p.m. It seems unlikely either will finish their second rounds Friday.

Michelle Wie, two shots behind Blumenherst and in sole possession of third place, will go off at 11:45 a.m.

Thursday’s first round, which started on time at 7:05 a.m., was suspended because of darkness, with one golfer still on the course, at 7:30 p.m.
